The regulation of the boost rectifier with power factor correction in the presence of an uncertain load resistance is addressed. The regulation is carried out using an adaptive modified current-mode controller to achieve low distortion in the line current and improved dynamic performance. The controller has all the desirable qualities of the existing current-mode controllers. The stability analysis of the closed-loop system is performed using Floquet theory. A comparison with a hysteresis-based adaptive sliding-mode controller is made and experimental results are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
