• Carbonate-compatible pretreatment generates nano-LiF/LiPO2F2 species. • DFEC regulates Li+-PO2F2- association and LiF interfacial stabilization. • A LiF/LixPOyFz-rich CEI improves high-voltage NCM811 kinetics. • 1 Ah pouch cells retain 87.7% capacity after 1000 cycles at 4.6 V.
