Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
This comprehensive review delves into the complex landscape of solid solution V-BCC based hydrogen storage alloys, providing an in-depth exploration of their development and influencing factors. Beginning with a systematic classification, the discussion covering binary, ternary, quaternary, and quinary systems, unveiling the nuanced compositions and potentialities therein. The binary systems, such as V-Ti, V-Nb, V-Ta, V-Cr, and V-Mo, set the stage for a deeper analysis of the synergistic effects of elemental combinations. Moving forward, the ternary, quaternary, and quinary systems, including V-Ti-Cr, V-Ti-Mn, V-Ti-Fe, V-Ti-Ni, V-Ti-Cr-Mn, V-Ti-CrFe, V-Ti-Cr-Zr, and other variants, reveal intriguing insights into phase compositions and stability. Throughout, the discussion, a detailed examination of critical influencing factors such as electronegativity, lattice constant variation, and phase composition, highlights their impact on hydrogen storage properties. A summary of the effects of common metal elements on the hydrogen storage properties of V-BCC based alloys has been provided. Through existing experimental data and modified theoretical formulas, relatively accurate predictions have been made regarding the hydrogen storage capacity, reversible hydrogen storage capacity, lattice constants, and phase composition of the alloys. This approach aims to provide a more precise method for optimizing the hydrogen storage properties of V-BCC based alloys. Furthermore, this review introduces popular research directions in BCC-based solid solution hydrogen storage alloys. Specifically, it highlights the growing interest in low/free vanadium BCC-based solid solutions and high-entropy hydrogen storage alloys, emphasizing their potential to enhance hydrogen storage properties. In conclusion, this review is dedicated to providing a comprehensive framework for understanding and advancing the field of BCC based solid solution hydrogen storage alloys.
