• Propose a coupled runoff model for monthly runoff prediction. • A secondary modal decomposition module for historical runoff data was utilized. • Model hyperparameters are optimized using an optimization algorithm. • The model can adapt to environment changes and predict runoff dynamically. • The model outperforms the widely used data-driven models (LSTM,GRU, etc.).
