• This work focuses on the design of MOEA based on regularity property of MOPs. • A comprehensive review of regularity-based evolutionary multi-objective optimization (REMO) approaches is conducted. • Some representative studies are indicated to indicate their basic idea. • The focus of this paper is on designing algorithms using the regularity property and points out future research directions.
