The serendipitous formation of two new forms of isonicotinamide:4-fluorobenzoic acid cocrystal system is reported in this study. The structural landscape of this cocrystal system has been investigated using theoretical calculations and mechanical grinding. The landscape has been further studied using isonicotinamide:benzoic acid structures as probes. The acid···pyridine heterosynthon is the basis of the crystal packing in all the obtained cocrystals. Interestingly, the acid···amide heterosynthon is observed in disordered Form-II, which is a 2:1 cocrystal. Form-II also elicits the question of whether the crystallized form is a twinned triclinic or a disordered monoclinic system.
