Abstract

h, yet another pleasurable read from Brandon Andrew Robinson! From unhinged Reddit threads to rich interviews, this multi-method project provides new insight into dating, sex, and pleasure for trans women and femmes, who are so often pathologized as desexualized or hypersexualized objects. Robinson refuses these harmful narratives and places trans women and femmes at the center of their own stories, generating possibilities for a more pleasurable future for everyone. In doing so, Robinson interrogates two key questions: (1) How does compulsory heterosexuality (Rich 1980) shape dating experiences for trans women and femmes? And (2) What are the liberatory possibilities of gender and sexuality when we look outside of heterosexuality and center femmes’ voices?
