This commentary traces the real-world impacts of a published Annals study on reindeer herding and tourism in China. Using retroactive rhythmanalysis, it documents how the study's diagnosis of rhythm conflict triggered multi-level responses across policy, industry and community. Rather than a linear top-down transmission, a process of rhythmic resonance emerged: policy provided institutional backing, industry developed market tolerance, and community reshaped tourism experiences into low-intensity, culture-based activities. These mutually reinforcing responses, while still localised, generated verifiable changes. The case offers a gradual, flexible pathway to research impact beyond conventional scaling.
