Thoracoscopy is the gold standard for paediatric lung surgery. However, in patients with prior infections or inflammatory lung disease, conversion rate to open surgery remains high. Optimized technical skills with Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) may offer technical advantages in complex cases.
