• Snow shear adhesion increases with surface roughness and LWC up to LWC = 28% • Dry snow exhibits significantly lower shear adhesion compared to wet snow • Snow tensile adhesion decreases as surface roughness and LWC increase. • Dry snow shows much higher tensile adhesion than wet snow • Ice grain size affects tensile adhesion owing to capillary forces
