Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Systematic silanization of alkali, kraft, and organosolv lignins is developed. • Lignin hydroxyl content below 5 mmol/g enables robust amphiphobic coatings. • 5 wt% lignin coatings cut water absorption of thermoformed sheets to 30 g/m2. • 5 wt% lignin coatings lower oil absorption and enhance grease resistance.• Coated sheets reach 3.2 GPa modulus and 125 MPa tensile strength without PFAS.
