• Experimental solubility data are essential for process design applications • Solubility of ethenzamide and 2-chloro-4-nitrobenzoic acid in scCO2 was measured • Data reliability was confirmed by correlating results of four semi-empirical models • Accuracy of three PR-based thermodynamic models evaluated with new solubility data • PR+MHV1+COSMOSAC accurately predicted solubility without fitted parameters
