In this paper we show how a neural net can be used to solve (A) over bar (X) over bar = (C) over bar, for (X) over bar, even though for some values of (A) over bar and (C) over bar there is no fuzzy arithmetic solution for (X) over bar. The neural net solution is identified with our new solution [6] to fuzzy equations. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
