A two-dimensional (2D) deconvolution beam imaging method based on distance and azimuth in active imaging sonar is proposed. First, the circular array is used to perform conventional beamforming for echo signal of each distance bin to obtain the distance and azimuth 2D acoustic image in active imaging sonar. Then, high-resolution azimuth information is obtained by using azimuth dimension deconvolved beamforming, which effectively improves the accuracy of target azimuth estimation. And the image in the distance dimension is deconvolved to obtain the impulse response function of the target reflection and accurately estimate the time delay of target reflection or distance information and produces high-resolution imaging results. Finally, the proposed method is validated by simulation and data, which show that the 2D deconvolution based on distance-azimuth has higher resolution and lower sidelobe imaging effect than the deconvolution based on the angle dimension.
