CsPbI3−xBrx inorganic perovskite solar cells (IPSCs) show great potential for next-generation solar cells due to their excellent thermal stability and compatibility with tandem architectures. However, the formation of undercoordinated Pb2⁺ defects resulting from iodide ion migration at the surface can lead to non-radiative recombination and degrade long-term device performance. In this study, we propose a novel strategy for the surface passivation of CsPbI3−xBrx films, employing the sulfonamide-based π-conjugated molecule 4-aminomethyl benzene sulfonamide (4-AMBSA). The amino (-NH2) and sulfonyl (-SO2-) groups can synergistically coordinate with Pb2⁺, thereby reducing the defects. Moreover, this strategy can also form hydrogen bond interactions to effectively suppress iodide ion migration, thus reducing the generation of uncoordinated Pb2⁺ defects from the source. As a result, interfacial charge recombination is significantly suppressed, and the phase decomposition of perovskites is delayed. Ultimately, the 4-AMBSA-treated IPSCs achieve a champion efficiency of 20.96%, the highest reported for SnO2-based IPSCs to date. Moreover, unencapsulated devices exhibit exceptional stability, retaining over 93% of their initial efficiency after 1100 h under nitrogen atmosphere, which also ranks among the top-tier performance for n-i-p type IPSCs. This work presents an effective interface passivation strategy that provides valuable insights for the development of IPSCs.
