• A stepless variable-load vibration isolator by mechanically synchronizing stiffness is proposed. • The synchronous adjustment principle of the isolator is elaborately illustrated. • The inverse design method for the synchronous adjustment mechanism (SAM) is developed. • The QZSVI-SAM has good vibration isolation performance under different loads. .
