• Stochastic stability of a pile foundation subjected to combined axial forces consisting of a constant load, harmonic excitation, and random fluctuations. • Stochastic averaging is modified to accommodate multiple loads. • Monte Carlo simulation is developed as an alternative method and used to corroborate the analytical results. • Effects of various parameters are investigated in detail to improve the stochastic stability.
