• Bimodal TTBC combines fine lamellar APS with vertical segmentation, preserving ~1.0 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹ conductivity. • w/d controls segmentation efficiency; reducing w/d from 2.0 to 0.7 tripled coating life. • Segmentation curbed sintering stiffening, keeping stiffness ~70% below crack-free coatings, enabling strain tolerance.
