Abstract

• Optical and structural properties of NiPc were studied using UV-Vis, FTIR and Raman. • Electrical properties of Au/n-ZnO MS and Au/NiPc/n-ZnO MPS junction were studied. • NiPc interfacial layer increase the effective barrier height of the MS junction. • Interface state density of MPS is less as compared to the MS junction. • Current conduction mechanisms were investigated for the MS and MPS junction.
