Abstract

The development of electrode materials has become a top priority as the requirement of global energy. Two-dimensional Ni(OH) 2 nanomaterials hinder its application in supercapacitors due to its low conductivity and limited active sites.Herein; we synthesize Ni(OH) 2 @NiS composites by a two-step hydrothermal route. It increases the specific surface area of samples and improves the ion transport rate. The Ni(OH) 2 @NiS-2 product delivers a specific capacitance of 1778 F g -1 at 1 A g -1 and cycle stability (88% at 2 A g -1 after 10; 000 times cycling). Furthermore; the asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) achieves an energy density of 110.25 Wh kg -1 at 2700 W kg -1 . Also; the devices show stable cycling capability at extreme temperatures.
