• Early switching of biologics may result in better clinical outcomes. • The complex interplay of cytokines in asthma and other co-morbid conditions may warrant a combination of biologics targeting different pathways in specific patient clusters. • Patients who failed initial biologics showed reduced exacerbations and symptom remission after switching to a different biologic. • There is a need for proper re-evaluation of patients before combination and/or switching biologics.
