Abstract

En 中文
To reveal the relationship between microstructures and mechanical properties in friction stir welding magnesium alloys, both experimental and numerical efforts were carried out. Monte Carlo model was built to study the microstructural evolutions. Crystal plasticity model was established to reveal the mechanical responses based on the microstructural evolutions. Experiments were designed to reveal both the microstructure changes and the mechanical behaviors in FSW. The Hall-Petch relationships between the hardness and the average grain size and between the yield strength and the average grain size were obtained using both the experimental and numerical data. The influences of the rotating speeds on FSW of similar/dissimilar magnesium alloys are further investigated.
