Abstract

• A steady-state 3D multi-physics model and transient damage model were developed. • Sensitivity of parameters and load change rate on cooling wall damage was evaluated. • A novel quadratic strategy was proposed for load change rate and system load. • The new strategy reduces creep damage by 37.56% and fatigue damage by 27.45%.
