摘要

To modify the undesirable chemical reactions in traditional aqueous electrolytes, such as hydrogen evolution, electrode passivation and zinc dendrite formation, an in-situ SEI layer forms on the Zn anode surface during cycling by using methylsulfonamide (MSA) as an electrolyte additive, effectively inhibiting the formation and growth of zinc dendrites. MSA provides corrosion protection to reduce the extent of side reactions and byproduct formation. Moreover, it enhances the rapid transport of zinc ions, promotes uniform deposition of zinc ions, and accelerates ion transport kinetics. The mechanisms of methylsulfonamide in corrosion protection, dendrite growth suppression, and the acceleration of zinc ion migration were investigated through electrochemical tests and characterizations. Symmetric and asymmetric batteries demonstrated the effectiveness of this modification in enhancing anode stability. Additionally, by fabricating MnO2 as the cathode material and assembling full cells, the potential of the in-situ SEI film on the zinc anode for diverse application scenarios was further confirmed.
