• Significant spatial variation of PFAS (0.68–0.94 μg/L) and heavy metals was observed across riverine and coastal systems. • Short-chain PFAS dominated upstream (industrial/urban sources), while long-chain PFAS were higher in coastal waters (marine influence). • Elevated levels of As, Cr, and Cu indicate localized contamination from industrial and agricultural activities. • Most samples exceeded pollution indices, highlighting potential ecological and human health risks in coastal Bangladesh.
