Abstract

• The Ni-WSe2 coating was deposited on Inconel 625 superalloy for the first time via laser cladding. • The solid lubricant reduced the coefficient of friction by a factor of 2.18 compared with the IN625 substrate. • The coating exhibited significantly improved wear resistance and microhardness, along with enhanced mechanical properties • The corrosion resistance improved, with a polarization resistance approximately two orders of magnitude higher than that of the substrate. • This study provides an effective strategy for developing industrial multifunctional coatings.
