• Troxerutin corrected histological alterations induced by Paclitaxel in rats. • Troxerutin restored normal oxidative balance following chemotherapy treatment. • Via regulation of ferroptosis, Troxerutin counteracted cardiac injury in rats. • Modulation of endoplasmic reticulum stress may provide evidence behind Troxerutin cardioprotective actions. • Troxerutin did not abrogate the anti-cancer activity of Paclitaxel on human MDA-MB cells.
