Uncertainty optimization of the roller profile in offshore wind turbine bearings

• A quasi-static CRB mechanical model has been established, comprehensively considering roller profile, clearance variation, misalignment, and load eccentricity effects. • An improved adaptive Kriging modeling strategy is proposed, in which CSP-RS, SNTR-CSP, and PES-KM are seamlessly integrated to form an efficient and robust “pruning–calibration–optimization” closed-loop sampling mechanism. • A DIAK-ARO reliability-based optimization framework with a two-stage DoE enrichment strategy is developed, enabling the synergistic coupling of global modeling and local refinement within the augmented reliability space. • The newly proposed exponential modification profile significantly outperforms traditional designs in terms of contact stress distribution and fatigue life improvement, while also exhibiting good manufacturing feasibility.
