• Reconstructed 30-m summer daytime LST in Chongqing from 2000 to 2024. • Summer daytime LST increased by 0.077 °C yr−1 over the study period. • SHAP analysis identified shifting roles of vegetation and built-up intensity. • A validation-weighted ensemble improved baseline 2030 LST mapping accuracy. • LCZ comparison revealed modest thermal differences under a fixed morphology layer.
