This study investigates the potential of urban trees in providing aerodynamic shielding for low-rise buildings. Wind tunnel tests were conducted at the Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI) Wall of Wind (WOW) Experimental Facility (EF) to examine how different tree placements influence wind pressures on a typical gable-roof structure. The experimental program included a baseline and eleven different tree configurations, positioned upstream of the building and always facing the incoming flow, varying in height, number, spacing, foliage condition, and setback distance.
