• Sustainable process converts microalgae into bio-based epoxidized monomers. • Ultrasound-assisted extraction achieved high lipid recovery and improved yield. • Ethanol–hexane solvent system selectively enriched high-value fatty acids. • Terminal epoxidation via epichlorohydrin reached a superior 63.9% monomer yield.
