Linear transformation is a typical variable filter design method. In this brief, we give a comprehensive and systematic theory analysis about the 2nd order transformation, discovering the potential performance of it. A general and complete direction about parameters setting is given, and the mapping relationship is clearly shown. Experiment results show that the performance of variable filters based on second order transformation was obviously improved.
