• This study proposes a dynamic threshold control strategy to replace traditional static methods, enhancing system intelligence. • A hybrid energy storage model integrating batteries and supercapacitors is developed for DC microgrid applications. • Adaptive voltage threshold coordination is achieved by adjusting charging/discharging modes based on real-time current parameters. • Experimental validation confirms stable and reliable DC microgrid operation under dynamic threshold control. • The algorithm improves power supply reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in DC microgrid operations.
