Abstract

Abstract

In this work, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a dual-channel terahertz metasurface sensor based on polarization-dependent quasi-bound state in the continuum (QBIC) modes. By introducing a single asymmetry parameter into double split-ring resonators (SRR), two independent QBIC modes are successfully excited under orthogonal polarization. Our design endows the sensor with dual-channel operational functionality, facilitating sensing at two distinct frequency points. The sensing performance of the metasurface was investigated, and its response characteristics to refractive index variations were theoretically calculated. In glucose concentration detection experiments, the results distinctly reveal a linear relationship between the resonant frequencies of both channels and the concentration. This work presents a dual-channel terahertz metasurface characterized by a simplified geometric configuration and governed by a single control parameter, providing a feasible sensing platform for applications in biochemical detection.
