Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• A new hyperparasitic microsporidium infects metacercariae developing in fiddler crabs. • Ultrastructure and rDNA-based phylogeny prove the finding belongs to Unikaryon. • The species name U. richardi commemorates late Dr. Ricahrd Herd. • The paper contains new information about Unikaryon spp. lifecycles. • Frequent incidences of Microsporidia-trematode associations deserve attention.
