Abstract

Abstract

Research highlights • A front-tracking framework for the modeling of topology changes in two-phase flows is presented. • The marching cubes algorithm is used to perform a global reconstruction of the interface undergoing topology changes. • Robust framework applicable to complex breakup/coalescence phenomena. • Efficient framework where reconstruction operations are executed only when topology changes are detected.
