Constructing multi-valued chaotic maps with abundant dynamical properties in the complex plane is an interesting yet challenging task. However, most existing chaotic maps focus on the real domain and exhibit only single-valued output. In light of this, we propose a two dimensional multi-valued trigonometric chaotic (2D-MTC) map by integrating a multi-valued function with a modular operation applied only to the imaginary part. Theoretical analysis demonstrates its chaotic behavior in terms of Lyapunov exponent. Numerical experiments show that the proposed map exhibits complex dynamical behaviors. In addition, an STM32 hardware platform is developed to verify the feasibility of practical implementation and the generation of chaotic attractors.
