A note on a useful yet overlooked algorithm for total system Bayesian reliability estimation

In this article, we focus on the basic Bayesian reliability model of a sophisticated system involving an arbitrary fault tree. We place priors on the reliability of each component in the system and then explain why a simple and exact algorithm introduced by Rubin (1984). Bayesianly justifiable and relevant frequency calculations for the applied statistician. The Annals of Statistics. 12(4), 1151-1172) is a preferable strategy for calculating the posterior distribution of system reliability.
