Flying Ad Hoc Networks (FANETs) hold immense potential for advancing critical applications in real-time monitoring, disaster response, and communication systems. However, their high mobility and decentralized structure introduce complex security challenges. This paper introduces a Blockchain-based Key Management (KM) framework specifically designed for Clustered FANETs. Our contributions include a novel Adaptive Reputation-based Trust and Key Management (ARTKM) consensus algorithm, which reduces communication throughput by 19% and improves trust management efficiency compared to conventional methods. Unlike traditional approaches, ARTKM dynamically adapts to network topology changes, achieving a 21% reduction in latency and improved scalability to handle 200+UAVs efficiently. Additionally, we incorporate a redundancy and backup mechanism to ensure continuous data monitoring and increase resilience against malicious attacks. Through comprehensive security analysis and performance evaluations, our solution demonstrates up to 18% reductions in energy consumption, enhanced reliability, and robust defenses against security threats. This work establishes a foundation for scalable, efficient, and secure KM solutions in FANET environments, paving the way for future enhancements in autonomy and operational stability.
