• Land teleconnections linking EU-27 to key producing countries reveal a strong concentration of embodied impacts into a few key trade corridors. • Across countries and crops, certain sourcing options may represent more environmentally friendly choices for specific commodities. • Oil crops substitution, without assessing both land efficiency and multiple ecological targets may not result in conservation additionality.
