The rapid advancement of wearable electronics and self-powered systems necessitates the development of flexible, sustainable, and multifunctional materials capable of efficient energy harvesting. In this study, a bio-based piezoelectric nanogenerator is developed using a chitosan/poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO)/MXene (CPM) composite film. Chitosan provides intrinsic piezoelectricity and antibacterial activity due to its abundant functional groups, while PEO enhances flexibility and dipole mobility through hydrogen-bonding interactions. The incorporation of multilayered MXene significantly improves interfacial polarization, mechanical strength, and charge transport within the composite matrix. The optimized CPM device exhibits a maximum output voltage of 16.43 V and a current of 0.62 µA under low-frequency mechanical excitation. The device also demonstrates excellent durability, maintaining ∼88% performance after 8000 cycles. The CPM film exhibits superior recyclability and dual functionality, maintaining approximately 92% of its original voltage after three successful recycling processes through reprocessing into new film, while also demonstrating excellent antibacterial properties. Additionally, the device effectively harvests biomechanical energy from human motions, enabling its application as a self-powered sensing platform for wearable systems.
