• The patch-based method is utilized to simultaneously capitalize on the intra- and inter-image correlation across multiple diffusion directions. • The patch-based multiple diffusion directions joint constraint is integrated into SENSE reconstruction. • The proposed method can achieve high-quality diffusion images comparable to those obtained from fully sampled data, even with an acceleration factor of 5.
