Accuracy analysis and improvement method for continuous web-based precision assembly

Abstract
En 中文
This article proposes and investigates an assembly accuracy control method for assembly processes where the partners are joined during a feeding motion and where a web-driven process kinematic couples the accuracy variables. The inappropriateness of available methods arises from their restriction that only individual, non-dynamic reference points are considered instead of multiple, dynamically moving reference points. The theoretical elaboration in this article approaches the assembly kinematics as a multi-input-multi-output system in a dynamic context. A case study applies this to a novel continuous folding process for Lithium-Ion-Batteries. Further applications are discussed to illustrate the generic relevance of the method.
