• SCNCs showed compatibility with biocontrol agents. • Foliar application of SCNCs suppressed powdery mildew in grapes, while improving yield without any phytotoxicity. • SCNCs were associated with changes in biochemical parameters in grapevine and showed concentration-dependent shifts in culturable bacterial and fungal populations on berry surfaces.
