• Proposed an alienation-coefficient-based fault detection method using only local current measurements for DC microgrids. • Fast and accurate fault detection across various modes, topologies, and high-resistance faults. • Validated by 500+ tests with 99.8% accuracy and superior speed and noise immunity.
