The development of cheap and efficient oxidation strategies to replace excessive and expensive metal salt oxidants remains of great significance in the field of organic synthesis. Herein, we report an efficient and recyclable oxidation system for Pd(II)-catalyzed remote-CH functionalization, in which the loading of the nonmetallic salt oxidant is reduced to 10 mol% and air serves as a co-oxidant. The control experiments and XPS results demonstrated that Pd(0) can be repeatedly oxidized to generate active Pd(II) species; thus, with extended reaction time, the loading of Pd(OAc)2 can be reduced to as low as 1 mol%.
