• Resource consumption of family member search and time integration in PD simulation is revealed. • A PD acceleration framework based on R-tree and GPU parallel is established. • The memory management optimization strategy of GPU parallel for PD is proposed. • The efficient numerical computation of the stress-state related viscoelastic PD method is achieved.
