The skyline operator plays an important role in multiple criteria decision making. The traditional skyline query algorithm has high efficiency in dealing with a small amount of data. However, as the data scale increases, the previous algorithm of skyline query in a centralized environment cannot be applied to new applications. Therefore, in this paper, the distributed skyline query algorithm (DSQ) is proposed to process skyline queries in the distributed environment. DSQ contains two stages. In the first stage, redundant data tuples are pruned based on a spatial index. In the second stage, a scheduling plan based on rotation is used to calculate the global skyline. The rotation scheduling strategy ensures that the load of each data node is balanced. Finally, the effectiveness of DSQ is evaluated through a series of experiments.
