• A nonlinear energy sink is realized by nonlinear electromagnetic shunt coupling. • Complexification-averaging gives slow-flow criteria for isola onset and attachment. • Even electromagnetic coupling harmonics drive slow flow with a magnet-coil offset. • Shunt impedance governs activation; nonlinear energy sink improves robustness. • Catalan-number weights organize resonant even electromagnetic coupling harmonics.
