• A relation extraction strategy based on machine reading comprehension is proposed. • Bidirectional extraction and assisted entity recognition avoid error accumulation. • Heterogeneous graph neural networks fully integrate semantic information. • The proposed model outperforms the state-of-the-art on several public datasets.
